Guest Quote [21:50 - 22:56]
“You have to be very self-aware as to what you're offering, and then be empathetic to what the community needs. It’s just a lot of cookie cutter stuff, but the goal of community is to build these remotive relationships at scale. And I think a lot of times the status quo of what community is gets in the way of that. And for me, that's something that's super important because I see from customers and case studies and things like that, how our software changes lives. And that's not hyperbole. We do a lot of stuff for the Department of Defense, which is real-time data there. We do stuff for cities. We do stuff for wind farms. We were doing contact tracing for COVID. All of these things that their real-time data previously would have taken forever, now a bootcamp grad can do this stuff. And so, how do we reach these folks at the level that they're at and give them what they need? This customer acquisition and marketing qualified leads, they only focus on the people that’s going to give you money. But evangelism focuses on the people that are going to give you their energy, efforts, and time. And we really need to figure out what does that mean from a scale perspective for community? I think more people need to start doing that.” – DeVaris Brown
