On February 25, 2019
SANTA CLARA, Calif. – February 25, 2019 – DataStax, the leading provider of the always-on, active-everywhere distributed hybrid cloud database built on Apache Cassandra®, today announced Condé Nast is using DataStax Enterprise (DSE) to improve customer experience and engagement through optimization, increasing click-through rates by 30 percent.
Condé Nast, a premier media company renowned for producing the highest quality content for the world’s most influential audiences, attracts more than 144 million consumers across its industry-leading print, digital, and video brands. With more than 20 brands, including Wired, Vogue, GQ, and Vanity Fair, Condé Nast sought to improve audience engagement of its more than 100 million monthly unique visitors.
With DSE, a globally distributed and scalable intelligent data platform, and DataStax Managed Cloud, a fully-managed, white glove service, Condé Nast created an optimized customer experience and found from internal benchmarks:
- improved digital click-through rates by 30%
- sped up its ‘Feature Store’ by 650%
- improved backend system performance of 1,800 reads per minute in less than 4 milliseconds and 1,800 writes per minute in less than 10 milliseconds.
“Insights from multivariate testing, powered by DataStax, have allowed us to build an optimized customer journey and improve engagement,” said Antonino Rau, Director, Data & Intelligence, Condé Nast. "DataStax has enabled us to quickly prototype and deploy numerous projects, including our Feature Store service, which helps us build highly curated datasets for machine learning and accurately predict and react to user behavior. The performance, scale, and reliability we have achieved with DataStax has drastically improved our products.”
Condé Nast chose DSE in part because it beat the contending solution, Amazon DynamoDB, in a benchmark test of each solution’s ability to scale to one million unique visitors per month and up to 50 million visits per day across Condé Nast’s 20+ brands.
“We’re very proud that DSE is providing Condé Nast with the performance, scalability and flexibility it needs to completely transform their customer experience and engagement,” said Steve Rowland, EVP and President at DataStax. “DSE will support Condé Nast through years of rapid growth and evolving customer requirements by providing them with the power to access, process, and scale all of their data. We do this for many other industries as well. DSE expands beyond publishers to help some of the world’s largest brands deploy modern applications in the cloud.”
