Bio
Companies are grappling with the age-old question of the Enterprise: to Open Source or to allow a select few companies to hold the keys? Kent Keirsey, the CEO and founder of Invoke, and co-founder of the Open Model Initiative (OMI) thinks open source is the only way forward.
Kent started the OMI, in response to recent image and video models that were released under restrictive, non-commercial license agreements. The initiative aims to create AI models that are not only open source and capable but also ethical—addressing the growing concerns about transparency, safety, and accountability in AI development
Last August, OMI announced a partnership with the Linux Foundation, marking a significant step forward in the development of free-to-use, open-source, and ethical AI models. That’s a big deal! It means the future of AI development can stay with computer scientists working to benefit all vs. the private sector, working to benefit stock prices.
