Ryan leads strategy and engineering for DataStax’s Emerging AI Tech team, which is responsible for developing solutions at the intersection of AI, search, and real-time data.

Ryan joined DataStax with the acquisition of Kaskada, an open-source stream-processing project focused on simplifying time-based AI model development. As Kaskada’s VP of Engineering and technology co-creator, Ryan was instrumental in the company’s development.

Before Kaskada, Ryan served as a principal engineer at ReturnPath, leading the development of AI/ML platforms, streaming data infrastructure, and distributed data acquisition. Before his tech career, he spent over a decade as an architectural project manager, designing buildings featured in publications including Dwell and the New York Times.
