Starlight for JMS Advantages
Starlight for JMS brings the following benefits of Apache Pulsar to JMS users:
Raw speed
Apache Pulsar can easily handle millions of JMS messages per second with 99.9 percentile publish-to-acknowledge latency of less than 10 ms.
Always Online
Apache Pulsar is fully fault tolerant at both the broker and storage layers, including built-in support for asynchronous replication across multiple, geographically separate regions. Even if an entire region goes down, traffic can be rerouted to others.
Consolidated administration
Apache Pulsar scales out to dozens or even hundreds of brokers and storage nodes, and Pulsar multi-tenancy means that a single cluster can be easily shared with thousands of tenants. Starlight for JMS allows you to consolidate your JMS messaging on a single Pulsar cluster with unified monitoring, management, and security, resulting in dramatically lower operational costs.
Never lose a message
Apache Pulsar durably persists messages to disk before accepting them. Once a message is accepted it is guaranteed to be delivered.
Cost-effective message retention
Apache Pulsar offers flexible message retention policies to allow replay for auditing, testing, and failure recovery. Older messages that are read less frequently can be moved to lower-cost storage like HDFS or AWS S3.
Drop-in replacement for your JMS
Starlight for JMS includes full support for JMS 1.1 and 2.0, including queue browsers, message expiration, durable subscribers, transactions, message selectors, and temporary topics and queues. TCK (Technology Compatibility Kit) verification is part of the Starlight for JMS open source repository to make sure that upgrading from ActiveMQ, IBM MQ, or Tibco EMS is seamless.
World-class support
With a "follow-the-sun model" and escalation that includes the authors of Starlight as well as committers on Apache Pulsar, Apache BookKeeper, and Apache Zookeeper, you will have a world-class team of experts to resolve any problem—no matter how complex.
