Experience the Latest Apache Cassandra® and Apache Pulsar® Innovations at AWS re:Invent

As expected, this year's AWS re:Invent 2021 is a harbinger of digital transformation trends that will soon become ubiquitous across many industries. Several key DataStax innovations are riding these trends, so we’re especially proud to be a Gold Technology sponsor of this year's re:Invent. For architects and application development managers, choosing the right NoSQL database is critical, as this technology will help their apps get to market quickly, and scale easily in production without running up cloud infrastructure costs.

What’s so special about DataStax and AWS?

Every enterprise wants to create applications they can rely on and trust with their mission-critical data. Apache Cassandra, the standard for NoSQL databases, powers applications with real-time data, true global scale, constant availability, and a native, active-everywhere architecture. The combination of DataStax and Cassandra on AWS ensures enterprises can build applications with agility, scale, extreme availability, and lower TCO. This year, we are excited to showcase three solutions that leverage Cassandra and are an ideal fit on AWS.

Astra DB on AWS, built on Cassandra

Our flagship offering, Astra DB, is a multi-cloud, multi-region, pay-as-you-go database-as-a-service (DBaaS). Enterprises can scale applications without limits thanks to  autoscaling and the lower TCO and complexity that results from a serverless, zero-operations DBaaS. You can securely connect applications hosted on AWS to Astra DB using AWS PrivateLink and use familiar APIs such as GraphQL, REST, Document, and gRPC to query the database. This offering is available directly from the AWS Marketplace.

Apache Cassandra 4.0 on EKS Anywhere with K8ssandra

The most significant release in years, Cassandra 4.0 offers improved performance and reliability. Developers can use familiar APIs such as GraphQL, REST, Document, and gRPC to query the database. DataStax offers K8ssandra, a Kubernetes-friendly Cassandra with all the improvements in 4.0 that can be deployed on EKS Anywhere, enabling enterprises to scale both applications and data in the cloud or on-premises. This offering is available directly from the AWS Marketplace.

Astra Streaming on AWS, built on Apache Pulsar

Our newest offering, Astra Streaming, can power your real-time applications with streaming, queuing, pub/sub, and stream processing in a multi-cloud, multi-tenant platform. What good is data sequestered in a database? Combine Astra DB and Astra Streaming to capture database changes in real-time (change data capture) for a multitude of use cases. Enterprises can lower their TCO and complexity with a serverless architecture requiring no operations.

We’re helping enterprises reduce complexity and database sprawl by deploying and consolidating NoSQL workloads on a multi-modal database, with infinite scalability and millisecond response time.
