Improved certification exams - The exams are now more fair and inclusive. While the knowledge base of the exams is unchanged, we’ve rewritten questions to be more accessible to non-native English speakers, eliminated questions with confusing or overly similar options, and added new questions emphasizing problem-solving over memorization. The early results are promising; we’re hearing that candidates find the updated exams to be challenging, but the pass rate has actually increased slightly. 

Exam preparation help - We’re excited to announce our new exam preparation workshop which we’ll offer monthly, with the first sessions on Nov 4 and 5. This free workshop includes a walkthrough of the registration and test experience, sample questions for both exams, and an opportunity for you to ask questions of our experts (link to registration page)

Zero-friction exam experience - We’re partnering with Mercer Mettl as our test delivery platform to offer more streamlined registration, improved proctoring, and the ability to take your exam on demand when you’re ready. We’ve also included a 20-question practice exam on the platform so you can get used to the test experience and make sure you’re ready.

Reduced-cost or no-cost exams - We’ve lowered our exam fee to $145 and are making vouchers for free exams available to those who have completed a learning path on DataStax Academy.
